GO BACK TO GEOG 1200 HOMEPAGE

Instructions for Map Exercises:

1. Please use colored pencils or fine point pens when completing these exercises.  The most effective and appealing maps are those that incorporate some color.  However, make sure you keep your color schemes light in order to improve readability.
2. Make sure you have downloaded the blank maps using the links below each instruction sheet.  You'll need these to complete the exercises.
3. NEATNESS COUNTS.  Sloppy and incomplete work will be docked points.
4. When indicating mountains or mountain chains, please use an inverted "V" to show a peak and a series of inverted V's to indicate a mountain range or chain.
5. Cities should always be indicated with a dot.  The dots don't need to imply population size so make them uniform.
6. All maps must include a title and legend to receive full credit.
