March Madness at
Charleston Middle School
March 9-13, 1998
CMS students from Team 8A are taking a special
interest in the 1998 NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments.
They drew for teams to cheer through the competition and are using
numerous resources to learn about their selected college or
university. The students will be exploring related topics in reading,
social studies, language arts, math and science.
Left - Justina, Travis and Brad search for a
college web site. Center - Heather and Whitney plot the routes to
their schools. Right - Doniyal, Courtney and Chris mark their teams
on the map.
Andrew Schniers and Cami Hargis shoot free
throws to be computer analyzed by the students using an image
processing program. What effect does gravity have on the flight of
the basketball?
