I'm from the town of St. Austell. The most interesting thing about this town nowadays is The Eden Project. Don't be deceived by the name; it's environmentally motivated, and not at all religious. I worked there in the three summers between my four years of undergraduate education. There are two biomes - essentially big greenhouses (the biggest in the world, at least when first constructed) - which house plants from the rainforest and mediterranean climates respectively.
It's warm, humid and leafy inside.
Cornwall might be best known for its beaches, but there's plenty of rugged coastline too.
