Assignments:

All assignments must be typeset in LaTex with the problems in order and organized by section.  Careful work is expected;  submissions that amount to rough drafts will not be looked upon kindly!  All assignments are due at the beginning of class on the designated date unless otherwise noted.

Assignment 1.  Initial (good, not rough!) draft due Monday, August 28;  final draft due Thursday, August 31. 
Problems 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8.  (Note:  If you use the book format in AMS Latex, it is easy to number the problems.)

Assignment 2.  Initial draft due Tuesday, September 12;  final draft due Friday, September 15.  Problems 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4(a,b), 2.5(b), 2.7, 2.9, 2.10, 2.13, 2.16.

Assignment 3.  Initial draft due Monday, October 2;  final draft due Friday, October 6.  Problems 3.1, 3.2(a-f), 3.3(b-g), 3.4(a-3), 3.5, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10(a), 3.11, 3.12, 3.14, 3.15(b), 3.16.

Assignment 4.  Final draft due Tuesday, November 14.  Problems 4.1,  4.7, 4.8, 4.10, 5.3, 5.6, 5.7.
