Course Goals:
To provide students with literature that provides them with 1) an understanding of the fundamental Principles of ecology, 2) familiarizes the students with pertinent papers in ecological theory, and 3) give the students experimental tests of ecological theory that gives them an appreciate of the benefits and limitations of addressing ecological problems.
Grade:
The grade will be determined by class participation, quiz scores, and from the assigned presentation topic.
Each person will be responsible in leading a discussion on a topic to be chosen at random from the list of topics to be discussed in seminar. The person assigned a given weeks reading assignments will supply the class with a one page outline highlighting the major points of each article and a list of five questions related to the readings that the class can talk about to get the discussion started.
