Terms:
Staff systems are created by connecting staves with barlines and brackets or braces. One common staff system, the great, or grand, staff, is comprised of a treble staff and a bass staff joined by a barline and a brace. This staff system, shown in Example 3-1, is used for piano music and in the study of four-part harmony. Example 3-1 |
