November 17, 2008
My undergraduate work was done at South Dakota School of Mines and
Technology in Rapid City, S. D. My graduate degree is from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and where I received a Ph. D. in mathematics under the direction
of I. Martin Isaacs. Since then, I have taught at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria;
Auburn University, Alabama; and the University of Evansville, Indiana. I have spent
sabbatical semesters at Kent State University and at the Centre for Interdisciplinary
Research in Computational Algebra at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
Since 1985, I have been on the staff of the Department of Mathematics
and Computer Science at EIU. Effective May 2008, I retired from Eastern
Illinois.
I enjoy reading poetry, medieval history, mysteries, and modern fiction. When
time allows I bike, back-pack, fish and camp (not necessarily simultaneously).
