Galileo's Inclined Planes

Free fall motion -- just dropping an object -- occurs so fast that it is difficult to observe accuratel. Galileo slowed down motion by rolling objects along inclined planes. He even invented -- or refined -- water clocks so he could make accurate timing of this motion.
