Pascal's Principle

Consider our equation

Increasing Patm also increases Pc.

A generalization of this is that an increase in the pressure anyplace in a system causes an increase in the pressure everyplace in the system. This is Pascal's Principle. It is the basis for all hydraulic systems, such as hydraulic presses, hycraulic lifts, hydraulic brakes, and hycraulic suspension systems.
