Rotational Kinetic Energy

For linear motion, we wrote the KE as

KE = (1/2) m v2

In a similar manner, for rotational motion, we now write the KE as

KE = (1/2) I 2

where I is the "moment of inertia" or the "rotational mass" and is the angular velocity.
