This schedule will be modified as needed.
Texts: Principles of Environmental Science 2nd ed by Cunningham & Cunningham
Attendance and active class participation are expected and will affect grades. Students are expected to have read the indicated material prior to class. Students should keep an annotated scrapbook of relevant news articles and bring it to class each meeting. The articles must be hard copy from the printed media - no online materials are acceptable. There will be several short essay quizzes and a final essay exam.
The scrapbook should be in a 3-ring binder with dividers separating various topics and students comments written in good English next to the article. The scrapbook will be graded.
A oral presentation on the term paper is required. Use of Power Point is encouraged if appropriate.

Grades based on percent (90,80,70,60); approximately 15% daily quiz (no make ups), 15% daily participation, 10% scrapbook, 45% term paper and presentation, 15% final exam.
Cell phones and pagers should be turned off when entering the classroom.
