Purpose:
Introduce the third graders to your hero team focus topics.  Inspire the third graders with their lives and achievements. Relate to the present. Recruit the third graders for your WOW freedom team.

Time frame:  Exactly seven minutes

Dates:  September 11 and 16 for performances with Mrs. Miller's class and Mrs. Conwell's  classes.

Rubric/ checklist:

• Fill the time frame exactly.  Organize the 5 - 7  minutes to meet the following objectives:
• Enable the children to "enter into" the time period and to "meet" the people, and feel their concerns and passions.  Costumes are desirable. You may act in roles and speak in the first person for all or part of the skit.
• Enable the children to realize what is unique and interesting about your team focus.
• Reflect your own enthusiasm.
• Use high impact props such as COSTUMES, posters, overheads, picture cards, book sets, artifacts, maps and videos, PPT, photostory, MSmoviemaker.   If you plan to show a segment of video, this needs to be limited to 2 minutes of your presentation time of 5 - 7 min.
• Use various presentation styles.  Use ideas to interest children which you are intending to use in your team lessons and activities.
  
• Forecast what kinds of things your WOW freedom team will be doing.
• Invite the children to join your team!
